Functional improvement

Functional improvement after central nervous system (CNS) injury is a relearning process. What does it mean?

Following a mechanical damage and pathophysiological processes due to a stroke, central nervous system got different injuries (blood vessels, nerves, blood brain barrier, white and gray matter etc.). Neural plasticity is the key to re-learning the motor function during the rehabilitation. This can be achieved through repetitive and directed relearning processes.
